About Clare


Clare's varied portfolio is an example of how good design offers real solutions to meet highly original 3 dimensional outcomes. Through the design of furniture, interiors and exhibitions her approach to 'problem solving' demonstrates her 20+ years experience in producing practical, aesthetic and ethical solutions to the design of space and objects. Clare works to meet the needs of commercial practices and design for production, as well as bespoke one off items and the specific requirements of end users. Through consultation Clare produces high quality individual and creative products for the discerning customer.

Clare Keil (MDesRCA) works as a free lance designer from her studio and prototyping workshop based on the Welsh borders near Hay-on-Wye. She has many years experience designing in a range of materials, working with architects, manufacturers, and to private commission, including being the inhouse designer for DEGW Architects London, Killkenny Design Workshops Ireland, and Conran Assocciates. Recently her designs have been used by the American Hardwood Export Council to promote the use of hardwoods, and by the Hay Festival for interior and exterior spaces. She is a partner in the successful design company "books4looks", and a lecturer to Art and Design students at Hereford College of Arts and other established colleges and universities.
